AI Generated Image

Working Area: Chittagong Hill Tracts (Khagrachari, Rangamati, Bandarban Hill Dsitricts)

Project Duration: July 1, 2025, to May 1, 2026

Budget: 9,76,000.00 (Nine lakh seventy-six thousand) Bangladeshi Taka

Objectives of the Project:

  • To raise awareness about the impact of climate change in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) and enhance the media capacity of the local youth through media workshops to address it.
  • To produce three documentaries that highlight the efforts and contributions of local communities in combating climate change in Bangladesh, by fostering a spiritual connection between nature and the local populace.
  • To create three video podcasts that feature the stories of individuals in the CHT who are actively working to combat climate change and protect biodiversity.
  • A total of six video vlogs will be produced, two in each of the three districts of the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Each vlog will focus on local community awareness, the effects of climate change, and their role in tackling it. These vlogs will be published on social media to generate broader awareness.
  • To organize three local and national screenings of the three documentaries, followed by dialogue sessions.

Project Participants:

Direct Participants of the Project:

Eighteen local youth from the Chittagong Hill Tracts will directly benefit from this project. They will participate in the media workshops and be actively involved in the production of the documentaries, video vlogs, and video podcasts. Additionally, the residents of the villages where the video content will be created will be direct partners in this activity. They will be involved through video screenings and awareness meetings organized in their villages. They are essentially the primary direct stakeholders of this activity.

Indirect Participants of the Project:

All local communities in the Chittagong Hill Tracts will indirectly benefit from this initiative. This is because the project will highlight the effects of climate change, the role of locals in addressing it, and their intrinsic relationship with nature. All this content—the documentaries, video vlogs, and podcasts—will contribute to raising awareness about the environment and culture of the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
